Helio Castroneves says IndyCar set for March 8 race in capital city of Brasília

Brazilian officials have announced the return of IndyCar to the nation following season, saying Friday that a race will held in the capital of Brasilia.
The federal district government launched a statement saying the Autodromo Nelson Piquet will host the race from 2015-19. The deal with regional race promoters was signed at an event in Sao Paulo.
IndyCar confirmed it is “exploring a return to Brazil and is in discussions with occasion organizers in Brasilia,” but added there was “nonetheless a lot of perform to be completed” prior to the race can be officially additional to the 2015 routine.

The circuit layout for the race at the Nelson Piquet track was not immediately announced. It has a twelve-flip, 5.5-kilometer (3.4-mile) anti-clockwise layout for most of the races there.
Federal District Gov. Agnelo Queiroz stated the government will guarantee all necessary enhancements are made at the track ahead of subsequent year’;s race.
The Autodromo Nelson Piquet is also anticipated to host a MotoGP race in 2015.
