Medical tests have proven Sauber driver Esteban Gutierréz escaped with no injuries after his scary accident in Sunday’;s Bahrain Grand Prix, when his auto flipped above in a collision.

The Mexican’;s auto was hit by the Lotus of Pastor Maldonado at the initial corner right after the Venezuelan came out of the pits. The automobile flipped above entirely prior to pivoting and landing back on its wheels.

Gutierréz radioed back to his staff: “Whoa! What was that?” He then sat in his car for some time just before strolling away, and was taken to a neighborhood hospital for exams.

“The most crucial factor is that I am Ok. They did all the checks at the hospital and almost everything is fine,” Gutierréz explained. “I was entirely surprised that Pastor, who came out of the pits, ran into me. I was obviously in front of him. I turned into the corner and I was suddenly hit and I rolled more than. There was absolutely nothing much I could do.”

Maldonado was immediately given a cease-go penalty for causing the collision, and following the stewards stiffened the sanction soon after the race by ruling, he will be demoted 5 grid spots for the next race in China.

The Lotus driver claimed he could not have prevented the contact.

“We will want to have a look yet again at what took place as Esteban seemed to be off his line coming into flip one — possibly he missed his braking point, I don’;t know,” Maldonado stated. “By then I was in the corner with nowhere to go.”
