Romain Grosjean says factors are receiving far better at Lotus soon after the team’s difficult start to the 2014 Formula 1 season.

Grosjean crossed the line in the Malaysian Grand Prix in 11th spot following providing the E22 car its longest run to date.

“I think it was very good for all the guys that we could finish,” said the Frenchman. “Of program it was not the way you would like to see when you commence a Grand Prix, but at the minute that’s in which we are, plus we had been not that far from the factors. I think with no a little issue at the finish of the race, we could probably have got closer and maybe fought for factors, but it was great. The guys had 3 nights in Melbourne [for the Australian Grand Prix] when they didn’t sleep, all that for not a big reward.

“And then we went to Malaysia and once again, they worked extremely hard, and we all know it’s humid and sizzling there, so conditions were difficult. But we managed to get to the end of the race. I consider we realized far more about our auto and we wish from now on that we get troublefree weekends as was the situation on Saturday and Sunday, and then from there we can find out, improve and get closer to in which we would like to be.”

Grosjean didn’t want to commit to how extended it may possibly get Lotus to flip things close to.

“I do not know, to be truthful. I know that we still have in our genes the winning spirit and we can nonetheless battle back,” he mentioned. “Of course, when you start off the season with every little thing in the appropriate path, it is simpler to move forward but at the second we’ve had some concerns. We’ve solved most of them, hopefully no more coming, then we can go from there. Of course, Renault is nicely conscious that the electrical power unit needs to enhance a small bit compared to particular other makers, but I think it’s going to be good, and we can function on our vehicle.”
