Man charged with two felonies for false auto theft claims | Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler

An investigation by Insurance coverage Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s workplace has resulted in felony insurance coverage fraud fees against a Seattle guy.

Ahmed Alzarook Mesbah, 33, was charged on Feb. 25 in King County Superior Court with 2 counts of insurance coverage fraud. He is accused of twice reporting a motor vehicle stolen to the Seattle Police Department and subsequently claiming every single vehicle as a loss with GEICO. Investigators established both autos had been shipped to Liberia in October 2012.

  • On Dec. 28, 2012, Mesbah filed a motor vehicle theft claim with GEICO for a 1998 Toyota RAV4 valued at $ 8,860.64. GEICO paid the claim. Mesbah has because repaid GEICO.
  • On April 23, 2013, Mesbah filed a motor vehicle theft declare with GEICO for a 2011 Honda motorbike, with a value of $ 11,253.32. GEICO did not spend the claim. The investigation revealed that Mesbah in no way owned the motorbike and employed falsified Division of Licensing data when he filed the insurance claim.

Mesbah is scheduled to be arraigned on March 19.
