Letter: Senior drivers

To the editor:

Aging drivers, 70 and above, are safer than before, according to a 2014 Insurance Institute of Highway Security examine. Yet senior drivers insurance coverage charges are primarily based on statistics that are false. Older drivers are scammed since of lies. Why does not someone do some thing about this? This is age discrimination

Numerous firms give senior discounts, but NOT the car insurance organizations. I advised my former agent about this examine and he replied, “I don’t make the laws. I just enforce them.”

In accordance to the IHS review, older drivers had a 42 % reduce in the quantity of fatal accidents among 1997 and 2012, whilst middle-aged men and women had only a thirty percent decline. Seeking at complete vehicle miles traveled, fatal crash costs fell 39 % for older drivers and only 26 % for middle-age ones.

Are you getting loyal to an insurance coverage firm who is scamming you since you are a senior?

Our local DMV does NOT have a neighborhood phone amount, for local inquiries. So, if you contact them, it will be extended distance to Topeka and then you will be place on hold having to pay per minute waiting for the following offered agent to reply your phone. Another “great” attribute for residing in Lawrence. Satellite offices all above with NO phones.
