GM, Ford submit double-digit gains in China

General Motors and Ford Motor Co. each reported double-digit sales gains in China for February — GM jumped 20 % and Ford rose 67 % from a yr earlier time period.

GM reported sales of 257,770 cars amongst it and its Chinese ventures in February — continuing an upward revenue trend with a twelve % revenue improve in January and an 11.8 % rise in December.

Separately, The Wall Street Journal stated Ford is expanding its r&d operations in China by increasing employees by 50 percent to about 2,000 individuals by 2018.

Ford is organizing to invest $ 100 million to employ the further workers, construct a new creating and develop a check track at its Study and Engineering Center in Nanjing, 637 miles south of Beijing, according to the Journal report.
