BMW planning Chinese recall for engine part issue [w/video]


Right after receiving an unspecified amount of complaints in China, BMW has reportedly started a “total investigation” into what might be a defective part in its VANOS engine control system. BMW explained by means of a Chinese website that it would file a recall application with the the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.

BMW has not however announced how numerous cars will be recalled, or which models the potential recall may well cover. We’;re also curious as to whether the VANOS problem could extend into markets outdoors of China.
